We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our international agile team consisting of Software Engineers, Scrum Master, Business Analysts, Product owner and Team manager. The team is located cross-border both in Vilnius and Stockholm. We develop seamless lending solutions on the Internet bank and mobile bank applications for almost 4 million customers in Sweden. We take full responsibility for our deliveries – starting from an idea up to development and maintenance. Our team belongs to Lending Transformation value stream which directly contributes to Swedbank strategic initiative ‘Digital lending process’. 

With us you have the opportunity to:

  • Design, develop and deploy backend services/integrations for lending applications in Swedbank’s internet bank and mobile apps for Swedish market;
  • Be in forefront of implementing services on the new cloud native backend platform built on CI/CD principals and modern application infrastructure;
  • Collaborate closely with architects, other engineers and become a valued member of a self-organized cross-functional team;
  • Take architectural responsibility in the team and in collaboration with domain architects design scalable and secure solutions;
  • Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by our team to troubleshoot and resolve incidents;
  • Continuously improve the quality of our products by proactively reducing technical depth;
  • Work in an environment that supports your individual growth – conferences, e-learning, workshops, hackathons, books.

What you need in this role:

  • 3+ years of experience with Java;
  • Experience with REST APIs;
  • Agile mindset and experience in agile way of working (e.g. Scrum or Kanban);
  • Ambition to grow to T-shaped Software Engineer;
  • Experience with modern frontend development frameworks (e.g. Angular or React) considered as an advantage;
  • Experience with mobile app development frameworks (e.g. Kotlin or Swift) considered as an advantage;
  • Interpersonal skills: good communication and cooperation skills, strong team-player, helping others, pro-activeness, analytical thinking, quality-centric mindset, structured, systematic and have attention to details;
  • Wish to work in international team, sometimes travel to Stockholm, and use English as a work language.

Technology stack we use:

  • Back-end: Java, REST, Spring Boot, Web services;
  • Front-end: Angular, AngularJS, Typescript, ES6, HTML5, CSS3, node.js;
  • Mobile apps: Kotlin, Swift;
  • Dev. environment: Jenkins, GIT, Gradle, any of - Eclipse, WebStorm, IntelliJ, VS Code;
  • Other: Jira, Confluence (wiki), MS Teams.

If you are employed in Lithuania, please note that salary offered for this position ranges from 2700-4100 EUR gross or 3200-4800 EUR gross (i.e. before taxes) depending on current experience and skills. Read more here!
