Starting your career at Swedbank Analyst Program offers an excellent opportunity to gain insights in core banking functions such as Risk Management, Investor Relations, Business Steering, and the Business side. Joining our program means that you will rotate between various units within the bank, gaining invaluable experience from different perspectives that will enhance your professional growth, spanning 10 months. As part of the program, you will be assigned and employed in one of the units presented below led by your recruiting manager, which serves as your base unit throughout your time in the program. Our aim is that after completing the 10-month rotation across various departments, you will return to the base unit with the ambition to continue your employment within their team.
The trainee program is designed for junior candidates with a strong academic background and limited work experience. We are offering 11 exclusive positions for the 2025/2026 set-up and the program is based in Stockholm at Swedbank HQ, starting September 2025.
The following units are part of the 2025/2026 program:
Within Swedish Banking, you will work with:
Data Science & Analytics: The Decision Analytics team enables Swedish Banking to make simple, consistent credit decisions for private customers, and manages the consequences of those decisions. We build the tools to actively control loan origination, closely monitor performance across the credit lifecycle and ensure sufficient provision are made for losses.
Pricing & Proactivity: Develop models to identify and predict customer behaviour for proactivity, as well as models and financial steering within pricing of interest-bearing products.
Insights and Optimization: Our unit’s focus is on using empirical data, statistical models, and advanced analytics to uncover trends, patterns and actionable intelligence. It involves analysing customer behaviour, financial market trends, efficiency of both internal systems and work force. Our goal is to use sophisticated data analysis to ensure that the portfolio remains balanced, healthy, and aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives, reducing risk and optimizing performance.
Within Group Product and Advice, you will work with:
Performance & Sustainability Analytics: Analyse and transform large datasets into actionable insights to enhance savings products and services.
Within CFO Office, you will work with:
Group Business Steering: Develops the frameworks, models and systems for steering the business. The main focus is to secure accurate profitability measures, relevant activity and effect performance indicators and omnichannel price management capabilities for the bank.
Investor Relations: Analyse financial results of Swedbank and our peers in order to create our financial messaging. Experience the interim report writing process.
Valuation Control: Owners of the bank’s internal market data hub, responsible for the internal valuation control framework as well as profit and loss reporting. As a valuation control analyst, you will work in close relation to our development organisation, C&I, Treasury, Accounting, and Group Risk, providing timely and high-quality information while enforcing the bank’s valuation policy.
Group Treasury: Work with analysing and processing data to support in financial- and risk analysis, funding and liquidity, and capital planning to optimise risk management and funding execution. You will work with data used by several teams within the unit, and you will get the possibility to have a broad understanding of the Treasury department and how it interlinks with the rest of the bank.
Finally, within Group Risk, you will work with:
Group ALM & Aggregation: Analyse how risks impact Swedbank’s balance sheet through advanced tools like stress testing. Gain comprehensive insights into banking, understand the effects of macroeconomic developments on a bank's income and risks, and apply this knowledge in impactful risk analyses.

What is needed in this role:
- M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Macroeconomics, Statistics or Computer science or similar
- Maximum 1 year of relevant professional experience (after finished studies)
- Strong passion for the financial sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to approach problems methodically
- Experience or coursework in analytical tools (e.g. R, SQL, Python, SAS, Matlab or similar)
- Fluency in English, both speaking and writing
- Skilled at communicating insights using Microsoft 365 tools
Skills that are a plus for this role:
- Experience or interest in equity or debt capital markets, or corporate finance, or accounting
- Experience working with practical applications of statistical modelling/machine learning
