DevOps Engineer at Swedbank - Orchestration Platforms

Join Swedbank’s Orchestration Platform team as a DevOps Engineer, where you'll help shape the future of software delivery for over 1500 developers across the bank. We’re building and evolving our GitHub Enterprise Cloud platform to enable modern, AI-powered development experiences—including GitHub Copilot. This is a hands-on, collaborative role focused on automation, platform reliability and providing the best developer experience.
In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:
- Drive impact by improving the daily workflows of 1500+ engineers across Swedbank.
- Enable internal customers such as development platforms and feature teams to build and maintain their own pipelines and automations.
- Build and operate our GitHub Enterprise Cloud platform, enabling products/features like GitHub Copilot, GitHub Advance Security etc.
- Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of GitHub organizations, repositories, and runners.
- Manage Kubernetes-based self-hosted runners on Azure AKS, optimizing for performance and cost.
- Develop Java Spring Boot-based microservices and frontend self-service portal capabilities to enhance the developer experience and support platform functionality.
- Implement security, compliance, and observability controls.
- Monitor and troubleshoot GitHub services and runners, including participation in on-call rotations.
- Support developers with documentation, guidance, and best practices for GitHub workflows and CI/CD.
- Collaborate across teams to align standards, share knowledge, and drive adoption of platform capabilities.
What is needed in this role:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or software development.
- Hands-on expertise with GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Kubernetes, and Azure AKS (or other cloud provider).
- Proficiency in Java (or other object-oriented languages) and microservice development.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and observability tools.
- A collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
