Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)

In Paywerk you have the opportunity to:
- Design, build, test, and maintain cutting-edge e-commerce payment solutions — backend oriented, with a touch of frontend;
- Act as a technical mentor, sharing your knowledge and supporting the growth of the team;
- Write secure, scalable, and high-quality code that powers daily financial services across the Baltics;
- Support customers by solving complex technical challenges with expertise and care;

- Help establish and grow an e-commerce knowledge hub within the Baltics’ leading financial institution.
What is needed in this role:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, or a good reason for not having one;
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Java ecosystem, with a strong track record in building real-world systems;
- Experience with modern frontend JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, or Svelte;
- Solid understanding of database design (RDS as well as NoSQL) and knowledge about cloud environments and IaC;
- A natural technical mentor, eager to guide and support fellow engineers;
- An entrepreneurial mindset — self-driven, proactive, and passionate about shaping the company’s future;
- Strong communication skills, comfortable collaborating with stakeholders and external development partners;
- Previous experience in financial systems is a big plus;
- Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English, Estonian is a plus.
