Valuation Control Quant Developer
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Valuation Control Quant Developer to join our Valuation Control Quant and Governance team.
This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity, robustness, effectiveness, and documentation of valuation adjustment (VA), independent price verification (IPV), prudent valuation (PVA), PnL control, and governance processes across Interest Rates, FX, Credit, and Equities.
You will collaborate closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, Model Validation, and Audit to enhance valuation methodologies, strengthen model oversight, drive automation, and reinforce the governance structure across traded markets.
In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:
- Lead the design, prototyping, and implementation of IPV, VA, and PVA methodologies across IR, FX, Credit, and Equities (including derivatives, structured, and non-linear products).
- Build and optimise quantitative frameworks for IPV, VA, PVA, and PnL explain, ensuring robustness, and performance.
- Translate valuation methodology and business requirements into production-grade code, including testing, version control, and documentation.
- Drive automation and standardisation of valuation control processes through code, reducing manual intervention and operational risk.
- Implement the remediation of regulatory matters, audit findings, and control-related reporting obligations by enhancing system logic and code quality.
- Work within an Agile delivery model, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement and iterative releases of quantitative valuation tools, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid deployment of high-quality code.
What is needed in this role:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a similar quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining production-quality quantitative code for valuation or risk purposes.
- Product knowledge across one or more of the asset classes: Interest Rates, FX, Credit, and Equities.
- Advance Programming skills (Python preferred) and experience with data analytics tools (SQL).
- Solid understanding of valuation methodologies for fair-valued instruments and how they translate into system implementation.
- Knowledge of valuation-related regulation (IPV, prudent valuation, reserves, audit frameworks) and ability to operationalise these rules in code.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to debug, optimise and validate complex quantitative systems.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both quantitative and non-quantitative stakeholders.
