Accounting Lithuania is a unit in Vilnius that belongs to the Swedish Finance Division (Swedbank AB Group Finance). We are a dynamic and forward-thinking team of professionals, constantly evolving and driving innovation in financial processes. We’re seeking an ambitious and talented Senior Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to our ongoing success.
As a Senior Accountant you will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial operations while actively contributing to the improvement of accounting processes within an international environment.
At Swedbank, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage the Full Accounting Cycle: be responsible for the full accounting of a Swedbank Group company — from daily transactions to month-end and year-end closing — ensuring accuracy and compliance;
Ensure Tax Compliance: prepare and submit tax declarations in line with Lithuanian legislation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting;
Maintain Financial Accuracy and Controls: ensure correct application of accounting standards and maintain reliable financial records;
Improve Processes: identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to increase efficiency and quality;
Collaborate with Stakeholders: cooperate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective financial operations.
What is needed in this role:
Higher education degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
Comprehensive knowledge of Lithuanian tax legislation and accounting standards;
Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
Fluency in English and Lithuanian (both written and verbal);
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar);
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively;
At least three years of hands-on accounting or finance experience.
