Head of Payments Products

The Head of Payments Products has end‑to‑end accountability for the Payments domain. This includes Payments domain strategy, prioritisation, delivery, and measurable business, customer, and regulatory outcomes.
This role is the clear owner of what is built, why it is built, and the results it delivers, with a mandate to make and stand behind difficult prioritisation and investment decisions in a complex, regulated landscape. You are accountable for end‑to‑end product ownership across the Payments domain.

What will be your daily work in this role:
Own and deliver the Payments product strategy and roadmap aligned with business, customer, regulatory, and technical needs;
Monitor Payments market and competitor developments to inform product decisions;
Act as the decision owner for Payments priorities, scope, sequencing, and trade‑offs in close alignment with Baltic Banking stakeholders and VDEs;
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8 Product Managers accountable for delivery and outcomes;
Ensure strong, trusted collaboration with stakeholders across business and IT;
Drive regulatory compliance and delivery of major regulatory initiatives;
Ensure disciplined execution across the full product lifecycle, from problem definition to value realization;
Own product, regulatory, and operational risks within the Payments domain;
Monitor product costs and profitability for the Payments domain,
Act as Business Product Owner, epic sponsor, and main spokesperson for Payments;
Represent Swedbank in relevant external and internal forums as required.
What is needed in this role:
Experience leading a product organisation in the Payments domain;
Clear and structured leadership style with strong accountability and ownership in a matrix organization;
Demonstrated ability to own end‑to‑end delivery and make decisions in complex, highly regulated environments;
Experience working closely with technology organizations in delivery‑focused setups;
Experience with agile development principles, such as SAFe;
Strong communication skills, including translating regulatory and technical changes into business value;
An internal and/or external network within the financial sector is a benefit;
Relevant formal education, e.g. a Master’s degree.
