What is needed in this role:
To succeed as a DB2 System Programmer, you need deep technical expertise in DB2 on z/OS together with a careful, structured way of working. The role is critical for system stability, performance, and data integrity.
• Strong experience with DB2 for z/OS in a production environment
• Solid understanding of DB2 system architecture, subsystems, and data sharing
• Hands-on experience with DB2 installation, configuration, and maintenance
• Knowledge of DB2 upgrades, migrations, and service management
• Experience with performance monitoring and tuning (buffer pools, logging, locking, access paths)
• Experience working with DB2 system tools (for example IBM tools or vendor equivalents)
• Understanding of z/OS concepts, including storage, CPU usage, and system resources
