In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:
Join a growing ESG Risk team within Baltic Banking Risk, responsible for second line oversight of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks in Swedbank;
Drive implementation of regulatory requirements related to ESG risk management, including ECB and EBA requirements, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR and related frameworks;
Lead and coordinate ESG risk regulatory projects and initiatives, from interpretation of requirements to practical implementation within the risk framework;
Develop, update and maintain ESG risk governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, instructions and methodological documentation;
Perform impact and materiality assessments, gap analyses and capability assessments to support compliance and supervisory readiness;
Become a partner to business and finance, as well as other risk functions to drive the ESG risk integration across the organization processes and decisions;
Provide second line opinions, independent challenge and quality assurance reviews of first line ESG risk processes and implementations;
Actively follow regulatory and market developments in ESG and sustainable finance as well as engage with the industry and translate that into practical risk guidance and mitigation action;
Support preparation of analytical materials, reports and presentations for senior management, risk committees and regulatory interactions;
Cooperate closely with stakeholders across Risk, Sustainability, Compliance, Legal, Business and Finance functions in all Swedbank home markets.
What is needed in this role:
University degree in the field of Sustainability, Law, Risk management, Compliance/Audit, Business administration, Economics, Finance, Political science, or a related field;
Al least 5 years experience working with regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations, preferably in the financial industry (banking, supervisory authority, consultancy or equivalent);
Good understanding of sustainable finance and ESG risk frameworks and requirements, such as ECB and EBA, CSRD and EU Taxonomy, SFDR (NGFS, TCFD, TNFD, ISSB is a bonus);
Experience developing or reviewing governance, policy, legal or regulatory documentation;
Proven ability to manage complex, cross‑functional projects with multiple stakeholders;
Experience performing risk assessments, quality assurance activities, or audit‑related work is an advantage;
Analytical mindset with attention to quality and detail when assessing impacts, identifying gaps and proposing proportionate solutions;
A team player mindset, with a proactive attitude and ability to work independently;
Strong oral and written communication skills – ability to explain complex ESG and regulatory topics in a clear, structured but simple way; good presenting skills;
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 toolbox (experience in using project-specific tools is an advantage, e.g., JIRA, MSFT Project);
Proficiency in English and of one of the Baltic languages (both written and spoken).
