Software Developer (Full Stack, Backend Focus)
Are you passionate about building integration‑heavy solutions that connect a SaaS platform with Swedbank’s P&C Insurance ecosystem?
As a full‑stack developer, you’ll primarily work on backend-focused features involving system integrations. This includes connecting our SaaS solution with internal systems using APIs and event-driven communication, while still contributing to the frontend when needed.
In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:
Building and maintaining high‑quality, well‑tested code across frontend and backend, with code reviews;
Developing and contributing to the design of reliable, high‑performance applications, including services, APIs, and user‑facing components;
Owning end‑to‑end feature development, from design and implementation to deployment and production support;
Designing, developing, and supporting integration services, REST APIs, and event‑driven flows using Kafka;
Working with existing monolithic and legacy solutions, supporting their integration and gradual evolution;
Collaborating closely with developers, architects, product roles, and our SaaS vendor to deliver features end‑to‑end;
Taking ownership of your services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution;
Contributing to improving our technical standards, ways of working, and system design.
What is needed in this role:
A proactive and analytical mindset, with attention to detail and a sense of responsibility;
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the team;
Comfortable taking responsibility for delivering features to production with support from the team;
Practical experience working with service‑oriented, microservice‑based, or monolithic architectures;
Hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs;
Experience with SQL databases;
Experience working with Kafka or other event‑driven messaging platforms;
Experience with Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript (not required to be your primary focus);
Business‑level English, written and spoken.
Nice to have:
Experience working in scaled agile environments (SAFe);
Experience with AKS or similar managed k8s platforms;
Experience with CI/CD;
Experience with observability and monitoring solutions.
