Oracle PL/SQL Developer
Are you passionate about Oracle PL/SQL development and eager to build, optimize, and maintain database solutions that support business-critical Life and P&C Insurance systems?
As an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, you’ll work on designing, developing, and maintaining database solutions that support Swedbank’s Insurance business processes. Your work will include creating and optimizing PL/SQL components, troubleshooting database issues, and ensuring reliable and high-performing data solutions.
In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:
Design, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL solutions supporting Life and P&C Insurance business processes
Optimize and tune SQL queries to improve application and database performance;
Investigate and resolve production incidents related to database applications, integrations, and data processing;
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable database solutions;
Follow development best practices, participate in code reviews, and manage code changes using GitHub;
Ensure data integrity, solution quality, and continuous improvement of database applications;
Contribute to solution design and propose improvements to existing database applications and processes.
What is needed in this role:
5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle PL/SQL development;
Strong expertise in Oracle Database and advanced SQL programming;
Proven experience developing and maintaining PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers;
Strong experience with query optimization, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex SQL issues;
Solid understanding of database design, data modelling, and data integrity principles;
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills;
A proactive and analytical mindset, with strong attention to detail;
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the team;
Experience of taking ownership of database solutions throughout the development lifecycle;
Business‑level English, written and spoken.
Nice to have
Experience with systems analysis, insurance systems and business processes as well as Java.
Experience working in scaled agile environments (SAFe).
