Software Engineer in Oracle Exadata team

- Contribute in building Oracle Exadata platform;
- Be part of our biggest transformation journey ever
- Develop, maintain and support the automations on Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer and on Oracle@Azure;
- Analyse requirements from Stakeholders and transform into capabilities in Exadata platform
- Design and implement new ways of working and build a strong foundation for infrastructure-as-code deployments in the future;
- Enable self-service and platform automation through building API-s;
- Analyse requirements and coordinate migrations according to migration plan in line with our Application Migration team
- Proactively seek and give feedback on the delivered functionality to improve over time.
What is needed in this role:
- Oracle databases
Strong understanding and experience in Oracle databases, including knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning and database administration. Good understanding of multitenancy and containerisation, clustering (Oracle RAC), data protection and high availability (Oracle Dataguard), backups (rman) and data security (Transparent Tablespace Encryption). Good understanding of database monitoring techniques with Enterprise Manager.
- Exadata
Strong understanding and knowledge of Oracle Exadata, including Exadata specific features such as Smart Scan, Storage indexes and Hybrid Columnar Compression. Oracle Exadata management over Oracle Cloud Interface and REST API-s.
- Programming languages
Strong knowledge and experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, Shell Scripting in Linux/Unix environments.
- Automation tools and framework
Good understanding of Infrastructure as a Code concept – proven understanding of tooling (git, artifactory, Jenkins, OpenShift) and CD/CI concept. Strong familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Puppet to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows within the Oracle platform.
- Database Migrations
Familiarity in database migrations and knowledge of different migration methods (such as data pump, transportable tablespaces, remote clones) and strategies for minimizing downtime during migrations would be valuable.
- Performance optimizations
Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize database queries, indexing strategies and overall system performance is crucial.
- Cloud Technologies
Understanding cloud-based technologies - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Azure.
- Problem Solving skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues related to database performance, application integration and data migration.
- Teamwork & Collaboration
Effective collaboration with cross functional Agile teams including developers, system admins, project coordinators, business stakeholders.
